Requisite new guy thread.

Harkonius here. Retired 1.0 player, and occasional poster on mkrealms. With the advent of Resurrection I figured I'd try to dig up some of my old stuff and maybe try to acquire some nostalgic 1.0 pieces to build some semi-meta armies to play with on a drunken night.

Anyway, I bought some War Impalers from Nye/Kossak the other week for a casual ML/RAM 1.0 warband and we had a short discussion on the "current" meta-game and how you guys played. Cool to see an active MK community after all these years. Especially cool reading and oggling all the Battle Reports as those are always fun despite me not understanding a ton of the 2.0 jargon being tossed around.

So yeah, I'll toss in my 2 cents now and then, maybe try to make time and visit your venue, hell maybe try the 2.0 rules without splashing 1.0 house rules in like we always did  . Not sure I can do the whole 500 Point faction pure thing though as the figures I have left are a hodgepodge of different groups. (Hey, I came from the time when Gravediggers, Technomancers, and Amazon Mancatchers put their differences aside for the common good :/)

As for stuff I'm looking for, my casual 1.0 Bone Toss army still needs some Yellow Skeletons. If you guys have some expendable ones I'm willing to take 'em off your hands. Hell I'll take Standards and Tough's if there are no weak ones left. Also need some shades as I switched to Mancatchers back in the day and gave away all my lovely yellow shades to some buds. Oh and the old school Fell/Nightmare Reapers too. Good ol' dependable bastards those are.

No biggie about the Shades and Skels man, casual gaming on my end so I have no problem making do with what I have.

My renewed interest will be tested come Resurrection. I've laid out all my cynicism for it at the realms so there's no need to do that here, but with all that's been said I'll still throw some money on it just to see how it plays both as a standalone product and as a complement to my decade old figures.

Yup, we'll have exclusive resurrection only figures tournaments to sync both old and new players. Take note that we'll still have the other standard formats running as well. Mage knight is so versatile and fun.

Skull face and dagger gives it away. The Wraith is my all time favorite unique to field back in the day. Either your enemy concentrates on killing it, leaving your other units free to roam, or they keep away from it, giving you field advantage.

And in 2.0, he benefits greatly from Surge.

Are there any alternatives to Weak Skel's for 1.0 Bone Toss? I cant really think of any. The 10 attack Weapon Master and ultra short dial is just right on the money. Good chances at hitting, 1-6 Damage, dies instantly so you can bring him back and toss him again.

Try Detonating Zombies :-) . They make for great Bone Toss in 1.0

I love the Wraith. I even have a metal figure of it. Untouchable in hindering terrain. She is an absolute nightmare in 2.0 with that fast 12 in surge. She consistently has a 4 damage through most of her dial which is "perfect" in combination with the "Dark March" Subfaction ability of the shyft. With it, she essentially always has a 10 , 11, or even a 12 attack rating depending on the figure boosting her.

Ack! You're right! The ** Detonating Zombie is nigh perfect, hell probably even better. The * Skeleton has more of that warm gushy nostalgic flavor to me though.

So anyone willing to chuck Detonating Zombie's my way? I also need a Zombie Baron for flavor purposes as my ML figures had always been either Autumn or Technomancers. Though workable, the Zombie Baron makes a helluva lot more sense.

Re-summon for awesome redundancy. I recall that the only click it was worth capturing was towards the last slot.

The Wraith is just the TIP of the iceberg in a LONG... long... list of really cool figures that became viable in 2.0 .
