depends on function.

The one thing missing from Caldera is Charge...
The one thing missing from Chroma is toughness...

On a regular game, I'm more inclined to field Caldera because she does have the higher attack rating, Magic Immunity, and the potential 7 damage from thunderblow. Thunderblow also happens to be the BANE of Psychic Reflection so bonus points to that.

They actually complement each other so I can't say who is better.

Both have pros and cons.

Chroma can use more relics thanks to her normal Shield defense type - meaning more possible builds can be done with her. She is also a mobile attacker thanks to her Charge.

On the other hand, Caldera is harder to take down thanks to her high defense and toughness and she has a higher percentage of hitting than Chroma.

Choosing which is better will ultimately depend on the play style of the player, I think. Smile

Ganito na lang, for those guys who play Draconum why don't we do a Chroma vs Caldera face-off!!! In that way we can find out and literally test who is better! Razz

I agree with Roy. Suppose you equip both with the same relic, say, Starshield. I'd still say they are quite matched. It will then go down on who has the better supporting cast like spell casters and the spells thay have or bodyguard units or ranged threats like Vithz.

It's the build behind and not the single figure that counts really. At least in the case of these 2 Dracs. Smile

Ganito pala itsura ng Dracs pag-na-FUMBLE...

My choice would still be Caldera... Too many crazy Psychic Refs around. She also has the Defend bonus that she shares to the backup spellcasters/support figures which makes her more a team player.

CALDERA IS AN EXCELLENT SUPPORT FIGURE!!!

Let's NOT Forget that CALDERA IS AN EXCELLENT SUPPORT FIGURE...

Caldera is a great support fig. But then again, Chroma is a great centerpiece fig.

Caldera's Thunderblow is handy vs Psychic Reflection but risky if the target also has Counterattack (which Chroma does have coincidentaly). High defense with Defend further helps with her support role. Caldera has the Magic Immune defense type, which does help in preventing wand attacks but this also limits her choice of relics since most of the better relics have the normal defense type requirement.

Chroma has Charge, Sweep and Counterattack, making her the perfect choice for aggressive style of play. Her 19 defense with Magic Resistance is no slouch either. The main problem with her is her just above average 11 attack rating. Sure it can hit smaller figs but if you wanna make her your centerpiece she has to be able to hit the higher defense figs as well. Fortunately she is more relic friendly so you can do countless set ups with her. Just be wary of autodamage. Smile

So my pick?

Pathis parin! Hehe! Wink

but she's got those skinny leg...

The cure for both figures are spells.

Caldera needs cheap-o Cetaur's Gait
Chroma needs mechanoid to counter-act auto-damage.
Both of them love "POWER OF THE DRAGON GODS"...

Magic immunity on Caldera is already kinda like having a "semi-RELIC". My favorite relic to give her?

Star Shield has already been documented many a times to be great... but...

Monk's Blade - +1 to attack, +2 to defense and a parry-like effect against Bow-type attacks makes it one of the best relics to give her. It's her ultimate anti-range set-up. It's great for her since she's already magic immune and the reduction to the bow helps immensely. The choice for the damage type item is challenging though. Crushing Blow with bracers of the Giant or max out the defense to with magestone bracers.

(a bit out there but) Giant's wrath... +3 to the attack and a +1 to defense. You kinda loose the thunderblow and any charge enchantment though since the effect of the relic is NOT optional.

take note the errata: Replace the last sentence of the rules text with:
If the attack succeeds, deal 1 damage to every opposing figure within a 3” area of
effect of the target after resolving the attack.

I used Monk's Blade with Niasamond before as well and it was a pretty effective anti ranged set up though figs like Cindrata or Amazon Draconum still poses the biggest threats for this set up.

Giant's Wrath is also nice. By the way, does the extra 1 damage also apply to the target itself? Kinda like how Auraheal works?

Pathis parin... Twisted Evil

Yup... Giant's wrath is a built in +1 Damage since the target is ALSO within the 3in radius.

Honestly both are equally useful depending on the purpose of the army build. Both has there own set of arsenal (relic/item and spell wise). Also support would be a factor that needs to be considered.

To sum it all up Drakor is better Very Happy
